Agreement Between Sony And Disney

Spider-Man may be able to swing between skyscrapers, but his main strength might be to stay. Sony and Disney have agreed that comic book fans will get what they want. Not so long ago, it seemed like there was no agreement and fans had to settle for two completely separate cinematic universes. The disappointment was real, but the excitement over the deal announcement is even more real. What exactly does the new deal mean for the MCU and what can fans expect from future collaborations? Fortunately and despite all the adversity, Marvel and Sony have struck a new deal that keeps Tom Holland`s Spider-Man in the MCU. But there`s a decisive difference between how Marvel and Sony handled this new deal, compared to their original deal. The first agreement, signed in 2015, has been made quite open. Official statements have detailed the implications. www.barrons.com/articles/sony-and-disney-agree-to-keep-spider-man-in-marvel-movies-51569606462 Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have finally struck a new deal to keep Spider-Man in the MCU, and it`s very different from their last one. The past few weeks have been tough for Spider-Man fans, as the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home has been overshadowed by the apparent end of the Marvel/Sony deal.

For a short time, it seemed like the wall-crawler was leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe completely. Fans of Tom Holland`s Spider-Man breathed in relief when Sony Pictures Entertainment and Walt Disney Studios announced they had agreed last month on the fate of beloved Webslinger at the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was the triumphant end to a seemingly brutally fought battle on both sides – Sony held the film rights to Spider-Man, Disney demanded higher payouts, Marvel and its fans were caught in the middle. Hollande gathered fans to demand that Sony and Disney make peace in this «feud» to allow Spider-Man to remain in the MCU, and a deal was eventually reached. But two Disney and Sony executives now claim that both companies have come to that result, regardless of the turmoil surrounding it. Remember, the main reason Disney and Sony decided to break up first on the Spider-Man front was due to disagreements over money, which is hardly unusual in Hollywood. But as Alan Horn explains, when Disney`s Bigwigs and Sony figured out how Marvel fans thought about this separation, they decided it was worth exploring a reconciliation so Spidey could continue operating in the MCU. It looks like, thanks to the new deal between Sony and Disney, Tom Holland will be hollywood`s toughest superhero. Kevin Feige`s announcement on Friday indicated exactly what was at stake in the most important part of the deal. Figue noted that Spider-Man will be the first superhero to be able to work in multiple universes. Deadline exclusively reported on the dispute between Sony and Marvel over the latter`s continued stake in the franchise with Figue, which has continued in recent months.

At one point, Sony essentially wanted to make the third spider-man image at home without a fig or Marvel. The initial agreement included five films. Tom Holland`s Spider-Man was featured in Captain America: Civil War, and then rocked a series of popular and well-received superhero blockbusters: Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Unfortunately, while Hollande has been personally hired for two more films, this seems to have been the end of the old deal between Marvel and Sony.
